HOW YOU CAN HELP THE FOUNDATION
The Taras
Oceanographic Foundation is a community based organization, dedicated
to ensure the long-term
survival of both people and the oceans. Since the Taras Oceanographic
Foundation is a publicly supported 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit
corporation, all donations are tax-deductible (our State of Florida
Solicitation
of Contributions Registration number is CH15629). While we may
get from time to time some small grants from government and other entities,
we rely on the support from the community to
function. Here is how you can help:
The Foundation has a continuing need for all kinds of contributions and
accepts contributions of real estate, vehicles, airplanes, various types
of equipment, and marketable securities, i.e. stocks, bonds, cash, etc.
Our tax experts from Smolin, Lupin and Cole will be happy to assist you
with any related paperwork. We have additional specialists who can help
with non-cash contributions.
Become an Adopt-A-Dolphin Supporter / Renew Your Adopt Annually
Our Adopt-A-Dolphin
program provides an easy and effective way to support the Foundation.
Adopt-A-Dolphin members have given crucial support that has enabled
us to:
- Develop our research programs and knowledge about whales and dolphins
- Provide internships to students and other interested individuals
- Conduct a set of outreach programs that include a weekly radio show,
a lecture series, the Sea Explorer Program (K-12) and Ocean Portal
Adopt-A-Dolphin supporters receive:
- A color certificate of membership
- Regular updates on issues concerning whales and dolphins
- Associate Membership of the Foundation
- Merchandise discounts
- Invitations to Open Days and other special events, such as our Whale
and Dolphin Fiesta

Associate Membership of the Foundation
Adopt-A-Dolphin supporters are automatically enrolled as Associate
Members of The Taras Oceanographic Foundation.
Now you can be more directly involved in our members' activities and

our program and operational activities, hands-on.

We are fortunate to have a number of generous individuals and corporations
that make substantial gifts to support our programs. Donations, which
are sometimes linked to specific programs, can be a very rewarding

Become a Strategic Partner
Benefit from a long-term, strategic partnership aimed at creating a
sustainable and enduring society that ensures the long-term survival
of both people and the oceans. The Foundation has a number of very
strong partnerships with the business sector, some of which now span
more than 5 years. We work to develop long-term, win-win relationships.
Strategic Partners are usually more involved and help shape the success
of our programs. They also receive free access to the Ocean Stewardship
Seminar Program, additional feedback and invitations to VIP activities.

Consider Making the Foundation a Bequest in your Will
Many of our supporters want their support to be on-going, when they
are no longer with us. They choose to make a legacy or bequest in
their will to make an enduring contribution to our work. For more

Vessel Acquisition Campaign
Our capital fundraising campaign aims at securing the means to acquire
the large vessel, 50ft. or larger, needed to conduct our Whale and
Dolphin Research and Ocean Stewardship Seminar Programs. Up to $400,000
has already been secured as matching funds.
